Import with Amazon API

When to use this

Import By PA-API 5 uses the Amazon Product Advertising API (PA-API 5.0) to search and import products. You must use API credentials from your Amazon Associates (affiliate) account, and that account must meet Amazon’s eligibility rules.

Amazon policy: account eligibility (required)

According to Amazon’s policy, to use the Product Advertising API your Amazon Associates (affiliate) account must be valid. In particular, you must have at least 3 qualifying sales in the last 30 days. If your account does not meet this requirement, Amazon will not approve or will revoke API access. Check your Associates account status and sales before setting up the API.

Before you start: add your affiliate API details

You need to get your API credentials (Access Key, Secret Key, Associate Tag) from your Amazon Associates account (Product Advertising API section) and enter them in the plugin. The plugin uses the labels Access Key, Secret Key, and Associate Tag on the API settings page.

Where to enter the API details:

  1. In the plugin top menu, click Settings.
  2. In the dropdown, click Amazon API Setting. The Amazon API settings page opens (this is a separate page from Configuration).
  3. Enter your Access Key, Secret Key, and Associate Tag from your Amazon Associates / Product Advertising API account.
  4. Save the settings.

Do not use credentials from a different type of account; they must come from your affiliate (Associates) account that is eligible per Amazon policy (including 3 sales in the last 30 days).

How to get to the Import By PA-API 5 page

  1. In the plugin top menu, click Import By PA-API 5.

Or from the dashboard: Quick ActionsImport By PA-API 5.

Import with API

On the Import By PA-API 5 page you see the Product Search & Import card. If the API is not set up, the page shows Amazon API Setup Required and a Configure API Now button that takes you to Settings → Amazon API Setting.

  1. Choose a search method: Keywords (search by name), ASIN Codes (import by ID), or CSV Import (bulk upload).
  2. Enter your search (e.g. keywords in the search field, or ASINs, or upload a CSV as the page allows).
  3. Optionally use All Categories, Sort by (Relevance, Customer Reviews, Price, etc.), and any filters shown.
  4. Run the search. When results appear, use the import action for each product you want to add to WooCommerce.

If imports fail, confirm your Associates account has at least 3 qualifying sales in the last 30 days, then check Settings → View Logs and Settings → Amazon API Setting.
