Import and Update Products with API
Important Pre-Import/Update Step:
- For products imported/updated with API: Ensure your API credentials are correct and up-to-date in the plugin settings.
- For products imported/updated without API: Make sure you’ve registered for the two proxy services and that they are enabled in the plugin configuration page under settings.
This step is crucial for the proper functioning of the import and update processes. Always verify these settings before proceeding with any import or update operation.
Importing Products
After setting up your API credentials, you can start importing Amazon products to your WooCommerce store. The “Import By PA-API 5” page offers three methods for importing products:
Accessing Import Features
- In your WordPress admin panel, navigate to the AMS Amazon plugin menu.
- Click on “Import By PA-API 5” to access the import features.
Import Methods
The “Import By PA-API 5” page has three tabs, each offering a different import method:
- Tab 1: Search with Category and Keyword
- Select an Amazon category from the dropdown menu.
- Enter relevant keywords in the search field.
- Click “Search” to view available products.
- Select the products you want to import and click “Import Selected Products”.
- Tab 2: Import by ASIN
- Enter one or more ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) in the provided field. [max 10 ASIN’S]
- Click “Import” to add these specific products to your store.
- Tab 3: Import by CSV File
- Click “Download sample file” to get an example CSV file.
- Prepare your CSV file with a list of ASINs, following the format in the sample file.
- Click “Choose File” to select your prepared CSV file.
- Click “Import Products” to start the import process.
- Wait for success messages for all products. This process may take 1-2 minutes.
Updating Products
There are three options for updating your imported products:
- Individual Product Update
- Navigate to the WooCommerce products page.
- Find the update button in each product row.
- Click the Update button to start the update process for that product.
- Wait for a success or failure message.
- Note: If you refresh the page, the update process will stop.
- Bulk Update via Plugin
- Navigate to the AMS Amazon plugin menu > Settings > Auto Products Update.
- Choose which elements to update by toggling the On/Off switches for:
- Product Name
- Product Price
- Product SKU
- Product Variants
- Variant Images
- Variant Description
- Product Out Of Stock
- Product Description
- Product Update Image
- Product Category
- Product Review
- Click the “Run Cron” button on the right side to start the update process.
- The process will automatically run until it finishes.
- Server Cron Job Update
- On the Auto Products Update page, look for a small button with an “info” icon.
- Click this button to view instructions for setting up a cron job on your server.
- Follow these instructions to automate regular updates.
Managing Imported Products
- After import, products will appear in your WooCommerce product list.
- You can edit product details, update information, or remove products as needed.
- Use the plugin’s update features to keep product information current with Amazon’s listings.
Important Notes
- Always keep your Amazon API credentials confidential.
- Regularly check your Amazon Associates account for any updates or policy changes.
- Ensure your use of affiliate links complies with Amazon’s Operating Agreement.
